An emotionally distraught Salman Khan vented his exasperation over delays in the Chinkara poaching case that has dragged since 1998 telling Chief Judicial Magistrate BK Jain, "Hang me if I'm guilty!"
After recording his statement, along with 5 others, in the case relating to poaching of Chinkara in Ghoda farms on October 11, 1998, Salman told the court, "Main pareshan ho gaya hoon. Mujhe phansi par chada do agar doshi hoon to aur mukadme ka phaisla jaldi se kar do" (I am fed up. Hang me if I'm guilty but pronounce a judgment on the case.)
According to Public Prosecutor Jeevan Ram Choudhary Salman's plea was not in the court records as he "made the gesture after recording the statement in the form of a request."
According to Salman's counsel Hastimal Sarswat the Bollywood star told the judge that he was innocent and was being "falsely implicated in the poaching cases".
Salman is a co-accused in another case involving Chinkara poaching in Bhavad on the same day along with actor-comedian Satish Shah, final hearings for which have also started.
